Bandits in the early hours of Monday morning invaded the premises of Bethel Baptist school located at Maraban Rido in Chikun Local Government Area and kidnapped a large number of students .
According to some residents living close by, the bandits arrived at about 1pm in huge numbers and shot sporadically into the air
before forcibly moving the school children from their hostels into nearby forest.
According to the witnesses, the bandits shot two security personnel who attempted to stop them from abducting the students.
One of the residents further said that between 100 and 130 students may have been abducted .
