In commemoration of the 2026 National Police Day, the Jigawa State Police Command today, 30th March 2026, commenced series of activities starting with sanitation and cleaning exercise at Hakimi Street, alongside with rendering free medical outreach programme at the Ultramodern Market (Sabuwan Kasuwa), all within the Dutse metropolis.
The exercise, conducted by officers and men of the Command, reflects the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to community-oriented policing and its dedication to fostering a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment for all residents.
At Hakimi Street, police personnel were seen actively engaged in cleaning drainages, clearing refuse, and sanitizing the surroundings to promote environmental hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases. The initiative was well received by members of the community, who commended the Command for its proactive approach and civic responsibility.
Simultaneously, a comprehensive medical outreach was conducted at the Ultramodern Market (Sabuwan Kasuwa), where traders, customers, and other members of the public benefited from free medical consultations, basic health screenings, and distribution of essential medications. The outreach aimed at improving public health and strengthening the bond between the police and the community.
Speaking on the significance of the activities, the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Police Command, CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya, psc, mnips, reiterated that National Police Day is not only a time to celebrate the achievements of the Force but also an opportunity to give back to society through impactful community service initiatives.
He further emphasized that the Command remains steadfast in its resolve to build trust, enhance public confidence, and work collaboratively with citizens in ensuring peace and security across the state.
The Jigawa State Police Command urges members of the public to continue to support and cooperate with the police in all its efforts aimed at maintaining law and order.
