The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has produced Ibrahim Salisu as Zamfara governorship candidate of the party through consensus ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a primary election held in Gusau on Saturday led by State ADC Chairman, Kabiru Garba, the party produced Ibrahim Salisu and Yasir Shu’aibu as governorship and deputy governorship candidates of the party in the state.
The Governorship candidate Ibrahim Salisu is the former State Treasurer of the party, while the deputy governorship candidate, Yasir Shu’aibu is the former youths leader of the party in the state.
Announcing the result of the primary election, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr Paul Ezenwa said the candidate emerged through consensus.
According to him, the exercise conducted peacefully, free and fair in accordance with the party’s guidelines and Nigerian constitution.
Ezenwa said, the governorship candidate Ibrahim Salisu and his deputy, won the election with 19,550 votes through the affirmation.
In a remarks, the state ADC Chairman Kabiru Garba commended the party stakeholders and entire members for their support and orderly manners during the primaries.
Garba called on the aggraived party members to join the party leadership for the success of the party in the state on the 2027 general elections.
In his acceptance speech, Salisu thanked all the party leaders, stakeholders and entire members of the party for their support.
He promised to focus on youths, women employment, tackling insecurity and general development of Zamfara state.
