Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa state has ordered indefinite suspension of three of his cabinet members, Special Advisers with immediate effect. Also, two Supervisory Councillors of Auyo Local Government Council were suspended.
In the statement, a copy which was made available to Stadt Media Reporters issued and signed by Najib Umar, the Public Relations Officer of the state, said, “The suspension was approved by the Jigawa State Government through the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development.
This is coming on the heels of similar suspensions of four political aides of Governor Namadi at the state level recently.
Our reporter has gathered that political atmosphere in Jigawa has been tense since the APC primaries, with several incumbent lawmakers across different state’s constituencies losing their return tickets during the exercise.
It added that among those affected was the member of the House of Representatives for Hadejia/Auyo/Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency, who failed to secure the party’s ticket for the 2027 general election.
The latest suspension of two Supervisory Councillors is contained in a statement issued by the Jigawa State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Ibrahim Hannun-Giwa.
