The management of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) has warned students against violating the institution’s dress code, declaring that offenders will be denied access to classrooms, lecture theatres, laboratories, libraries, examination halls and other university facilities.
The directive was contained in a circular issued by the Directorate of Academic Affairs and signed by the Acting Director of Academic Affairs, Mustapha Aliyu.
The university said it had observed “with serious dismay” the increasing disregard for its approved dress code by some students, describing the trend as a breach of the institution’s rules and regulations.
According to the circular, improper dressing constitutes misconduct under the provisions of the Students’ Handbook, particularly Chapter Seven on Students’ Conduct and Discipline and Chapter Thirteen, which outlines the university’s dress code and the penalties for violations.
It however, urged all students to comply with the approved laid down rules and regulations or face the wrath of the Varsity penalties.
Also warn all students residing the Varsity environment to strictly adhere to it’s rules or be sanctioned stressing that adherence to the regulations is mandatory and biding.
