For: AIA Kurawa Travels and General Contract Ltd. in a statement said the recognition was conferred at the 22nd AKWAABA African Travel Market, held in Lagos from September 13 to 15, 2026, in celebration of the company’s outstanding contribution to excellence in travel and tourism across Africa.
Organised by ATQ News and Travellers Magazine, the Africa Travel 100 initiative honours travel professionals and organisations making significant contributions to the growth, promotion and development of tourism across the continent through innovation, quality service delivery and promotion of intra-Africa travel.
According to Travellers Magazine, Vol. 27, No. 2 (2026), this year’s edition featured leading tour operators from 13 African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia, Botswana, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Tanzania, Senegal, Benin Republic, Kenya and Cameroon.
AIA Kurawa Travels and General Contract Ltd, under the leadership of its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Amb. Dr. Idris Ahmed Kurawa (Maji Dadin Dan Malikin Kano), was recognised in the Top Travel Companies category for its commitment to promoting excellence in travel and tourism.
The award plaque was inscribed: “The Top 100 Travel Icons in Africa – Promoting Excellence in Travels – Winner: AIA Kurawa Travels and General Contract Ltd.”
The honour places the Kano-based travel company among distinguished tourism stakeholders across Africa and reinforces its growing reputation as a trusted name in the travel and tourism sector, known for delivering quality travel services and creating memorable experiences for its clients.
