A Non Governmental Organisation, Orah Bayit Foundation celebrated its second anniversary on Saturday with lots of activities marking the event.
The activities include award of scholarships, certificates, cash rewards and other gift items which include Uniforms, shoes and other school items amongst others.
According to the convener, Mrs Grace Iliya, the Orah Foundation project is titled, “Play and Excel, Fostering Success Through Sports”.
Grace Iliya, an assistant Director with the Sports and Outside Broadcast Department of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Headquarters, said that the girls who are under the care of the foundation have improved tremendously.
She added that parents of the girls have been cooperating with the foundation, but urged both government and private organisations to channel their support towards the growth of the foundation.
Honourable Attorney General and Kaduna State Commissioner of Justice, James Kanyip who commended the founder of the foundation, said that such initiatives helps in curbing youth restiveness.
The event had other dignitaries in attendance, including the Kaduna State Commissioner of Sports Development, Professor Benjamin Kumai Gugong, the Chairman of the Kaduna State Board of Internal Revenue, Comrade Jerry Adams and former Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Kaduna National Station, Malam Abba Zayyan.
Since its launch in 2023, the Play & Excel programme has empowered children through structured play, teamwork, and creative learning, helping them build confidence, discipline, and a sense of purpose.
The initiative continues to nurture children into future leaders by blending physical education, mentorship, and moral development.
The anniversary celebration was held at the Standard Foundation Sports Complex, Busa Close, Gwari Avenue, Barnawa, Kaduna.
The event featured, an impact documentary premiere showcasing two years of transformation stories.
It also featured Sports and Play Exhibitions, where children demonstrated teamwork and skills, motivational talks, awards, and the champion’s pledge, affirming the foundation’s vision to shape tomorrow’s leaders.
