Fake News: Shinkafi Petitions IGP, DSS Over Allegations Against Tinubu, Yari, Others 

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has petitioned Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Department of State Services (DSS) over alleged fake news against Senator Abdul’aziz Yari.

Dr. Sani Shinkafi a former governorship candidate in Zamfara State, also urged IGP, DSS to investigate fake news marchant Jackson Ude over defamatory claims on Senator Yari, APC National Chairman,First Lady Sen Remi Tinubu and Presidency.

Shinkafi who is also the Executive Director of a Non Governmental Organization ‘Patriots for the Advancement of Peace and Social Development’ called for probe over alleged  libelous, defamatory publications against Yari. Tinubu

“I authorized Dexter Law Firm to write the Inspector General of Police and Director General Department of State Services (DSS) Following alleged persistent malicious publications against former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari by one Jackson Ude, using Point Blank, Tracknews NG and Akelicious online platforms”,

He alleged Cyber Bullying, and Defamation of Character Against Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and demands investigation of Jackson Ude.

“I want to  urge DSS to invoke the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act 2024 to investigate the sources of these claims.

“The publishers of Tracknews NG and Akelicious should be invited to provide proof of their allegations.

“It is unfathomable to people of good conscience that a person who has participated in building goodwill and good character will now be part of its destruction,” Shinkafi insisted.

Shinkafi maintained that the false statements are injurious to the character of Senator Abdulaziz Yari and are aimed at defaming his hard earned reputation.
