Gov Uba Sani Commends KSCOE Gidanwaya For Research Innovation, Dual Mandate Achievement

The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has lauded the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidanwaya, KSCOE, for its commitment to research and innovation, noting that scholarly research remains critical to solving societal challenges and driving sustainable development.

The governor made this commendation while delivering remarks at the maiden International Conference organized by the School of Secondary Education, Sciences Programme of KSCOE Gidanwaya. Represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, the Governor emphasized that access to technology and digital skills is central to his administration’s education agenda.

He highlighted two flagship initiatives: the _AI for All_ programme, the first of its kind in Africa, which seeks to democratize Artificial Intelligence knowledge by delivering content in Hausa; and the _DigiTruck Mobile Classroom_, which delivers digital literacy training directly to learners across the three senatorial zones of the state.

Governor Uba Sani also congratulated the College on securing the Dual Mandate Act, which now empowers it to run both NCE and degree programmes concurrently. He described the milestone as a testament to the institution’s academic credibility and its growing contribution to teacher education in Nigeria.

In his address, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, described Artificial Intelligence as a transformative tool for education. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to repositioning teachers as community leaders and problem-solvers through targeted training, research support, and technology integration.

The Provost of KSCOE Gidanwaya, Dr. Ayuba Aku Ambi, expressed appreciation to the Kaduna State Government for the timely release of overhead subventions, which he said have enabled the College to maintain operations, strengthen security, and renovate key infrastructure. He urged participants to leverage the conference as a platform for proposing practical solutions to pressing societal problems.

Delivering a goodwill message, the Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Council, Hon. Peter Dogara, congratulated the School of Secondary Education, Sciences Programme for convening the international conference. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting education and research, and encouraged scholars to engage in deliberations that will advance educational practice and policy.

The 3-day international conference, themed _“Artificial Intelligence in Reshaping Empirical Research, Ethics, Implementation and Commercialization”_, brought together academics, researchers, and education stakeholders from institutions across Nigeria and beyond.

In his vote of thanks, the Dean, School of Secondary Education, Sciences Programme, Mr. Linus Pitto, expressed gratitude to all guests, participants, and partners for their presence and contributions, and prayed for safe travels for everyone returning home.
