Campaign DG Appointment: Over 5,000 Zamfara  Islamic Schools  Students  Pray For Yari

More than 5,000 students from about 250 Islamic schools across Zamfara State have participated in Qur’anic recitation and special prayers for  Senator Abdul’aziz Yari’s success as Director-General of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.
The programme was organised by the United Youth Scholars for Preaching and Guidance in Zamfara State, with Islamic scholars drawn across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara.
Speaking at the event, the state Chairman of the Association, Malam Nasiru Buda, said the initiative was aimed at seeking divine intervention for peace, stability and political success in Zamfara State and Nigeria.
Buda said the association had a long-standing tradition of organising Qur’anic recitation and special prayers every two months, stressing that the latest gathering was not initiated because of the current political developments in the state.
“We invited Islamic scholars across the 14 local government areas and more than 250 Islamiyyah schools to pray for success.
“We did not initiate this forum now. It has been our long-time tradition to conduct this kind of Islamic act, seeking God’s intervention, which is usually done every two months,” he said.
He said members of the association had resolved to support the Tinubu administration and Yari following the president’s appointment of the former Zamfara governor as Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
Buda said Yari had maintained strong relationships with Islamic organisations and scholars across the country, adding that his philanthropic activities had earned him the support of many religious communities.
“We had our grievances before, but following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Senator Yari as Director-General of the campaign council, we have decided to put all our grievances aside and unite for the success of the movement.
“We are calling on our members and Islamic schools to continue praying for the success of Abdul’aziz Yari and the campaign council,” he said.
He also commended the contributions of the member representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannah, towards the success of the gathering.
Responding, Senator Yari, who was represented at the gathering by Hon. Aminu Adamu Dankwangila, commended the United Youth Scholars for Preaching and Guidance for organising the Qur’anic recitation and prayers.
He urged the scholars and students to sustain their prayers for peace in Zamfara State, Nigeria and the success of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign council.
