The Emir of Birnin Yandoto in Zamfara State, HRH, Alhaji Aliyu Garba Marafa has called on his subjects to always promote unity and peaceful coexistence.
This iwas contained in statement signed by the Chairman Publicity Committee of the Emirate, Malam Nasiru Usman Biyabiki issued in Gusau on Saturday.
The monarch made the call while addressing his subjects in Yandoto after receiving the Staff of Office from Governor Dauda Lawal.
The event was attended by the district heads, council members of the emirate, religious and community leaders among other stakeholders from within and outside the emirate.
Garba Marafa is among the 19 Emirs of Zamfara State who received Staff of Office and vehicles from Governor Dauda Lawal in a coronation ceremony held at Trade Fair Complex in Gusau.
The coronation ceremony held in Gusau was attended by Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, politicians and major stakeholders within and outside the state.
The emir further said that, “I always urge you to sustain prayers for the return of peace and stability”.
He also urged community leaders, and district heads in the emirate to maintain peace, foster unity, and avoid acts of injustice.
“I want to appreciate the good people of Birnin Yandoto Emirate who came out in large numbers to celebrate with us over this great gesture from Governor Dauda Lawal.
“I thank you for the high level of unity, maturity and patriotism you have shown during this great occasion.
“As we all know, My message for you is all about, unity, peace and stability,” the Emir added.
He continued, “We should always work together for the development of our Emirate, Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole.
“We should avoid conflicts and always embrace dialogue to ensure peace and economic stability, progress of our Emirate.”
